Grandparents are invincible. They are always there, watching you, whilst growing up. They give you treats. They love you unconditionally. They never tell you off.
My grandmother was called Nan. She introduced me to sorbert desserts- lemon was my favourite. She took me to dental appointments. She brought me a silver crucifix for my christening, and a gold necklace for my communion. She gave me sapphire and diamond earrings for my 16th birthday. None of which I wear. They’re in the safe. They’re my memories.
Sleep tight, Nan.
